Brighton

Brighton is a vibrant, active beach city of just under half a million people. It enjoys a huge tourist industry, with over eight million people a year visiting the city, as it is only an hour’s train ride from London. One of the favourite places amongst tourists is the promenade, Brighton Pier, which features shops, cafes, restaurants, and a funfair. The Brighton seafront is famous for the Volks Electric Railway, the oldest one in the world.

Another popular entertainment area is “The Lanes” which has an extensive array of retail, leisure and residences. Renting In Brighton.com can assist you in finding just the right place for your rental needs.

Brighton is home to the second largest arts festival in the UK, the Brighton Festival, and hosts many other theatre, music and street festivals. It is an open, liberal city with an exciting nightlife. Several theatres, and over 400 pubs, and numerous nightclubs and music venues keep Brighton residents entertained. ABBA famously won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton.

In the business sector, Brighton is the place to be for digital media. It is sometimes known as “Silicon Beach”. It also has two universities, a medical school, colleges and vocational programs.

As with many cities in the UK, football is a popular pastime, and Brighton’s beaches give it the added allure of a number of boating and yachting activities through the Brighton Marina, as well as the fun beach soccer competition held annually.
